Ythrek has an eccentric orbit around the sun, which when combined with the tilt of its axis, generates long-term extreme seasonal changes that have a profound effect on society. The graph below is based on a very simple model (sort of) that gives different weighting factors to the different variables that affect Ythrek’s long-term climate. The graph just shows the average high temperature in °C for a given season in a given part of the Turning, starting with year 1.
It isn’t gospel, it’s just a guide.
While it never says so in the gameworld book, you can see that in some years there are two short growing seasons instead of one long one, some years that are pleasant year-round, some that have one very extreme season in an otherwise normal year, and some years where you stay indoors unless you have no other choice.
As a gamemaster, use this information to add some depth to your game and its schedule of key events...
