I've noticed that the revolver maps plugin uses a ton of resources (CPU cycles), at least on Chrome and Firefox. I've disabled them through AdBlock but I think it might be nice to have a setting to remove them from the page.

They have caused my laptop to overheat on a couple of occasions when left running by mistake.

A quick check of the Revolver Maps site shows no easy way to turn it off. However, while I ask my web guy about it, I have implemented a quick workaround. The map is deactivated on the "recent topics" tab of the forums, and I am guessing that if you have a BTRC window up, the forums is where it will be. So, just leave things on the recent topics window and you should be fine.

I have a continuing resource monitor on my computer, and it shows Firefox CPU utilization goes way down when I switch to the recent topics window.
