Welcome to the BTRC forum!

The overall rules for the forum are pretty simple: Keep it clean, keep it on topic. Personal attacks, political or other diatribes and most forms of trolling get you banned for as long as I feel like banning you. You will also get on my bad side if you requote long posts or otherwise clutter up the forum.

TOPIC: Hail to all (and I don't mean stones)

Hail to all (and I don't mean stones) 4 months, 2 weeks ago #990

Hi everyone. I thought I'd get the introduction out of the way and be polite and friendly, and then lurk for however long it might be until I have something useful (or not) to say.

As a board, miniatures and RPG gamer for around 30 years (it hurts thinking about it), I'm still embarrassed that I didn't even know about BTRC until a few weeks ago. Thanks to a combination of a Christmas-inspired buying frenzy on DriveThruRPG and some web searches that tangentially touched upon the CORPS VDS, I recently acquired EABA, CORPS and the VDS, and having only skim-read all three, am already thinking they're up there with the best. The VDS has so much generic material that it's easily convertible to just about any other system/setting/alternate use I can think of. EABA has me slavering and drooling and findind I've already printed a pile of Character Sheets, tables, and other stuff in anticipation of a game really soon with my pals. I can't wait to get stuck into it. I don't think I've been this excited or so keen to try a 'first-read-through' system out for a decade or maybe more.

It would be polite of me to mention to other forum users (and moderators) that I have a lurking habit; I don't often post and usually check the forums I'm attached to semi-regularly, but occasionally sink my teeth into a topic that inspires me to be less antisocial and dare to post one or two things. I mention this as an advance apology if any forum users or moderators find this type of lurking rude or antisocial.

Given the timing, I'd be remiss not to wish everyone on the forum all the best for 2012.

Cheers

Welcome! As a long-time gamer you probably have your own gameworld in mind, but take a look at the published EABA supplements. Most of them have sample chapter downloads so you can get an idea of what is going on.
